Magic Schofield sends Crompton to defeat!
We weren’t sure if Crompton was going to show up when the time reach quarter past 1 and they still were at home but they arrived and the game went on against the bottom side.
With Harry Clough in the 1st XI the reins of opening the bowling was that of Gilly and Sulley and they both showed that they are capable of opening the bowling but the wickets didn’t come until the 9th over with Sohail doing the honours of removing Lukener and Whiston cheaply leaving Crompton 25-2 and then Gilly Chipped in getting Dawson for 4 and then it was Schoeys turn with the wickets after breaking the partnership of Kershaw and Sultan and then with 4 other wickets leaving Crompton 120 all out after 49.4 overs
At tea Rochdale with one foot over the line felt very confindent and it was to be after some poor bowling from the opening leaving Rochdale to cruise to victory and at one time Rochdale looked like they was going to win without losing a wicket but a stupid run after all ready running 2 left Chicken well out of his ground meaning he had to go witch brought the hero with the bowl steve schofield to finish the job with the young avery (Jack) to put on a partnership of 68 to see the job through for Rochdale and another 5 point victory for Gillys men and take it to Towncroft next Saturday .
